Join us at the forefront of change and innovation!

Are you a highly organised, proactive, and dynamic professional ready to play a pivotal role in a major transformation? At Bendigo Bank, we've embarked on an exciting journey to build Australia's most innovative, data-driven, and value-based audit function, and we're looking for a Coordinator to be at the heart of our evolution.

This isn't just an administrative role; it's a unique opportunity to support our General Manager of Group Internal Audit (GIA) and the wider division as we implement our ambitious new strategy. You will be a key enabler of our mission: to protect and strengthen the bank by providing strategic insight and trusted assurance over the things that matter most.

About the Role

As the GIA Coordinator, you will be the central point of coordination for the division, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the GIA function. You'll drive cohesion across our strategic initiatives, oversee operational excellence, and support a high-performing team environment. Your proactive support will be critical as we move from periodic audits to continuous, data-driven, and predictive assurance.

What you’ll do:

  • Be the strategic partner to leadership: Provide high-level executive support to the GM, GIA, including proactive calendar management, coordinating executive-level meetings, and preparing high-quality briefs and presentations.
  • Drive operational excellence: Act as a central coordination point for the division, tracking progress against our strategic goals, managing budgets, and identifying opportunities for process improvement.
  • Champion good governance: Support our board and committee administration, manage governance calendars, and help embed a robust risk and compliance framework across the team.
  • Foster a culture of success: Coordinate team activities, support the onboarding of new talent, and help build a positive, collaborative, and high-performing team environment.

Why is this role different?

You will be joining our Group Internal Audit function at a pivotal moment. We have reset our focus to align with the bank's most critical risks and are on a multi-year journey to become a strategic asset that helps the Board anticipate risk and strengthen decision-making. You will be instrumental in this transformation, helping to build the foundations for a future-ready audit team that leverages data, automation, and AI-enabled assurance.

What you'll bring

We are looking for a professional who embodies our values: to Make a difference, Be better together, Own it, and Find the right way. You will also have:

  • Proven experience in supporting senior executives or leaders within a complex and fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional organisational skills with an ability to manage competing priorities and anticipate future needs.
  • Strong communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders.
  • Experience in project coordination, budget management, and operational reporting.
  • A high level of professionalism, discretion, and integrity in handling confidential information.
  • Experience in banking, financial services, audit, or risk is highly desirable.
