Executive Assistant to the Chief People Officer
Location: Sydney (Preferred) | Melbourne, Adelaide, or Bendigo considered
Contract Type: 12-month Fixed Term
Start Date: ASAP (but we’ll wait for the absolute right fit!)
Step into a pivotal, high-influence role as the strategic right-hand to our Chief People Officer and help drive the people agenda for one of Australia's most trusted banks.
We’ve never been ‘just a bank’. Just like you should never be ‘just an employee’. We’re united in our belief that in banking, better can be bigger, and together we’re making it happen.
It starts here. With Bendigo Bank… and you.
At Bendigo Bank, we're all about helping people and communities thrive. We're a big bank, but we've never lost our focus on the people we serve. We’re driven by our purpose of feeding into the prosperity of our customers and communities, not off them.
Our people are at the heart of our Bank, and we care about them deeply. The People and Culture division delivers meaningful work in support of our group strategy, with a focus on enriching the employee experience and helping our people to thrive at the Bank. This is your chance to make a significant impact as we continue our journey of transformation towards our 2030 strategy. At Bendigo Bank, we're focused on becoming a bigger, better, and stronger bank for our customers and communities, and our People and Culture team is at the heart of this evolution.
The Opportunity
Are you a proactive, forward-thinking Executive Assistant who thrives in a fast-paced, high-impact environment?
We are looking for a stellar EA to partner directly with our Chief People Officer (CPO) to provide strategic, C-suite level support to her and the General Manager, People, Strategy & Capability, as well as to the wider People & Culture (P&C) Leadership team. This is a critical, 12-month fixed-term contract where you won't just be managing a diary - you will act as a true extension of the CPO and GM, anticipating needs, resolving issues before they arise, and keeping the engine of our P&C strategy running smoothly.
The Vibe
You’ll be joining a geographically dispersed P&C leadership team made up of seasoned, passionate professionals. The PCLT are highly supportive and collaborative, but also hold each other to account and aren't afraid to challenge the status quo. If you love working with driven leaders who care deeply about what they do, you’ll fit right in.
What You’ll Do
No two days are the same! You will be the linchpin that keeps our leadership team connected, organised, and focused on delivery. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing dedicated, C-suite level support to the CPO and broader P&C Leadership team.
- Managing complex, extensive travel itineraries.
- Driving stakeholder engagement and confidently liaising with the Board and other Executives.
- Drafting and managing communications, speaking notes, emails, and high-level presentations.
- Coordinating and driving P&C team meetings, leadership offsites, and business-wide Townhalls.
- Preparing meeting agendas, managing event logistics, and organising catering.
- Taking absolute ownership of due dates, board submissions, chasing outstanding items, and preparing end-of-week updates to keep everything on track.
Who You Are
You are a highly experienced Executive Assistant who is confident, adaptable, and completely unfazed by shifting priorities. You know how to pivot at a moment's notice and can seamlessly manage multiple competing tasks without letting a single detail slip.
- Experienced: You have a proven track record of providing premium support at the C-suite/Executive level.
- Proactive & One Step Ahead: You don't wait to be told what to do; you foresee roadblocks and resolve them autonomously.
- Detail-Obsessed: You possess exceptional attention to detail in everything from scheduling to board papers.
- A Confident Communicator: You are comfortable dealing with stakeholders at all levels, up to the Board.
- Industry Knowledge: Previous experience working within the Banking or Financial Services industry is highly advantageous to help you hit the ground running, but it is not a strict requirement for the right person.
This role can be based in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, or Bendigo. We offer flexible work options that put our people first, working in a hybrid model with a minimum local Head Office attendance requirement determined by your Leader, to find a rhythm that works best for you and your team. We believe that coming into the office some of the time is the best way to learn, stay connected and collaborate effectively, especially for key activities like team days, 1:1s, and town halls.
So, why work with us?
- Want big impact that matters? Here, you’ll know your work directly benefits the customers and communities we all serve.
- Want to be more than just a number? Join a team that truly values you – and that gets more and more diverse every day.
- Want career opportunity AND flexibility? Achieve both here, where we know that balance and progression go hand in hand.
You’ll also get access to a great range of benefits, including:
- Hybrid work? Flexible hours? A compressed work week? Our flexible work options are designed to suit your life.
- Health and wellbeing support, including discounted gym memberships, private health insurance options, and our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for you and your immediate family members.
We’re making better, bigger. And we’ll get there with you.
