We’ve never been ‘just a bank’. Just like you should never be ‘just an employee’. We’re united in our belief that in banking, better can be bigger, and together we’re making it happen.

It starts here. With Bendigo Bank… and you.

Come and be part of our specialist Enterprise Risk team. This is a high-impact opportunity to help shape the strategic risk landscape of Bendigo Bank. If you are a risk, treasury, or strategic professional with strong analytical skills and looking to drive critical risk capabilities at an executive level, we want to hear from you.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Manager, Enterprise Risk, you will play a key role in providing analytical insights and strategic support to the Bank. This is a highly dynamic and visible position where you will help shape Group Risk’s input into the Bank's overarching Group Strategy, support enterprise-wide risk uplift initiatives, and contribute to our regulatory planning requirements.

Operating in a fast-paced and collaborative environment, you will have the agility and strategic mindset to manage complex analytical requirements alongside ad-hoc, executive-level initiatives as they emerge.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Risk Strategy & Strategic Planning: Support Group Risk’s inputs into the Bank’s annual strategic planning, corporate budgeting cycles, and corporate scorecard initiatives.
  • Quantitative Analysis & Reporting: Lead report writing and uplift through strong quantitative analysis and data visualisation, creating clear and concise board and committee papers.
  • Enterprise Risk Uplift: Drive strategic, enterprise-wide risk uplift initiatives, leveraging AI and other technologies to uplift deliverables and respond to emerging priorities.
  • Scenario Testing & Simulations: Support complex, enterprise-wide simulation exercises to test and validate the effectiveness of various actions under stress scenarios.
  • Regulatory Support: Assist in coordinating and maintaining the Bank's APRA CPS190 (Recovery) and CPS900 (Resolution) planning requirements to ensure compliance with regulatory expectations.

What You’ll Bring to the Role

This role requires a unique blend of analytical expertise, financial acumen, and outstanding communication skills.

Essential:

  • Financial Services Experience: Proven background in banking or financial services, ideally within Enterprise Risk, Treasury, or Corporate Strategy.
  • Analytical & Quantitative Skills: Strong experience in quantitative analysis, leading report writing, and uplifting reporting quality.
  • Data Visualisation: Strong analytical and data visualisation skills (e.g., Power BI), coupled with a continuous-improvement mindset for uplifting board/committee papers and risk reporting.
  • Stakeholder Management: Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to confidently engage, guide, and collaborate with Senior Leaders and Line 1 Risk & Compliance teams across the enterprise.
  • Exceptional Communication Skills: Highly developed written and verbal skills, with a proven capability to translate complex risk and financial concepts into clear, high-quality Executive and Board-level briefings.
  • Technical Proficiency: Expert experience in using Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Power BI, with an ability to leverage AI to uplift deliverables.
  • Agility & Growth Mindset: A proactive, curious approach to problem-solving, with the resilience to thrive and adapt in an environment with high levels of ambiguity and shifting executive priorities.

Desirable:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline (e.g., Mathematics, Finance, Business, Commerce, or Actuarial Science).
  • Practical hands-on experience with Recovery and/or Resolution Plans (ideally under APRA regulatory frameworks like CPS190/CPS900).
