Employment Type:  Permanent
Employee Class:  Full Time

We’ve never been ‘just a bank’. Just like you should never be ‘just an employee’. We’re united in our belief that in banking, better can be bigger, and together we’re making it happen.

Are you a customer service champion with a passion for financial markets? Ready to take the next step in your career and dive into the dynamic world of margin lending and stockbroking?

It starts here. With Bendigo Bank… and you.

As a Service Consultant within our Leveraged Margin Lending business, you will be the vital frontline link between our bank and our valued clients, stockbrokers, and financial planners. This isn’t your average customer service role—you will be diving into the dynamic world of financial markets, handling complex inquiries, and providing high-quality solutions.

We believe in going beyond everyday transactional support to actively deepen our customer relationships. By taking the time to truly listen, explore, and understand what our clients and partners value, you will become a trusted guide in their financial journey. Working in a fast-paced and supportive team environment, you will use your numerical skills and financial knowledge to navigate everything from account administration to scenario calculations, all while driving customer retention and business growth. If you are passionate about making a meaningful difference and eager to expand your expertise in margin lending, this is the place to do it.

Key responsibilities:

  • Be the voice of Leveraged: Act as the first point of contact across various service channels, providing timely, accurate, and exceptional support to our customers and partners.
  • Handle complex financial queries: Take ownership of specialised tasks including account administration, stock transfers, scenario calculations, and issuing margin calls.
  • Educate and empower: Help clients understand our diverse product range and proactively identify opportunities to connect them with broader banking solutions.
  • Drive business success: Play a direct role in our growth by focusing on client retention, driving loan conversions, and championing key business initiatives like our Fix and Prepay campaigns.
  • Collaborate for impact: Work seamlessly with internal teams—such as Customer Care and Operations—to solve problems and deliver a unified, premium customer experience.
  • Own the risk: Ensure all regulatory compliance and risk management procedures (including Leveraged Credit Policy) are strictly followed to protect our customers and the bank.

To succeed in this role, we’d love you to have:

  • 2+ years in a customer-facing role, paired with 2+ years within the financial services industry (experience in margin lending, financial planning, or stockbroking is highly regarded!).
  • A solid understanding of—or a strong, demonstrated eagerness to learn about—financial markets, stockbroking operations, and Margin Lending.
  • The ability to listen deeply, ask the right questions, and build genuine rapport with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong numerical and problem-solving skills to confidently navigate financial scenarios and credit limit inquiries.
  • We love people who actively challenge the status quo, suggest process improvements, and take ownership of their professional development.
  • The ability to prioritise your workload effectively and thrive under the pressure of deadlines.
  • A tertiary qualification in a Finance discipline will be highly regarded.
  • Must hold an RG146 (Generic Knowledge and Margin Lending) accreditation or willingness to complete within probation period.

We offer flexible work options that put our people first, working in a hybrid model with a minimum local Head Office attendance requirement determined by your Leader, to find a rhythm that works best for you and your team. We believe that coming into the office some of the time is the best way to learn, stay connected and collaborate effectively, especially for key activities like team days, 1:1s, and town halls.

We are offering two permanent, full-time positions with a preference for candidates based in Sydney, though applicants from Melbourne or Adelaide are also highly encouraged to apply.

So, why work for us?

We are regularly voted one of Australia’s most trusted brands and this isn’t something we take lightly, which means Bendigo Bank is the Bank you can be proud to work at!

We believe a diverse workforce supported by an inclusive culture is central to our success and we actively encourage applications from those who bring diversity of thought to our business. We support candidate requests for adjustment to accommodate an illness, injury or disability to equitably participate in the selection process.
