Step into a pivotal role driving the strategic evolution and operational readiness of one of Australia's most trusted banks
It starts here. With Bendigo Bank… and you.
At Bendigo and Adelaide Bank, our vision is to be Australia's bank of choice. To achieve this, we are continually evolving. We are currently navigating a period of significant operational, technological, and structural transformation, and we need strategic, experienced leaders to guide us through it.
If you are passionate about driving seamless change and ensuring major transitions are executed with minimal disruption to business operations and customer experience, we want you on our team.
The Role
As the Senior Transition Manager, you will be responsible for leading and directing large-scale process transitions for business services to our strategic partners, Genpact and enabling our future retained organisation
You will own the execution of the functional transition strategy, seamlessly integrating transition plans, governance structures, and operational templates to align with our broader program objectives. You will act as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for senior leadership, providing strategic counsel on transition-related matters and shaping the future state of our operations.
What you will do
- Strategic Planning & Execution: Design and manage an integrated, week-by-week transition roadmap. You will translate complex business objectives into actionable plans and monitor the transition plan in collaboration with our partners.
- Stakeholder Leadership: Lead and influence a diverse group of senior stakeholders (including General Managers, Heads of Function, and Program Sponsors). You will build strong relationships across internal teams and external partners, including Genpact..
- Governance and Reporting: Establish and run the transition governance cadence, including stand-ups and integrated plan reviews, as outlined in the Transition Playbook. You will report progress, risks, and issues to the BPO and Technology Transition Boards and the Enterprise Steering Committee.
- Stage Gate Management: Manage the end-to-end Stage Gate Methodology, ensuring all deliverables for each phase (e.g., Blueprinting, Knowledge Transfer, Guided Production) are completed, evidenced, and receive the necessary approvals from GMs and SteerCo to proceed.
- Risk & Critical Path Management: Hold internal stakeholders and BPO partners accountable for key milestones. You will proactively identify interdependencies, mitigate risks, and drive the resolution of major roadblocks with executive-level recommendations.
- Operational Readiness: Secure stage-gate approvals and sign-offs for all transition documentation, ensuring our retained and partner teams are fully prepared for the new operating model.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will be a strategic thinker who thrives in complex, ambiguous environments. You will bring:
- Proven experience: A strong track record in managing complex business, technology, or operating model transitions, ideally within the financial services sector.
- Stakeholder mastery: Extensive experience managing relationships at the GM and Head-Of level, with the ability to navigate complex organisational dynamics and influence decision-making.
- Technical expertise: Deep understanding of transition frameworks (process, people, tech, and data) and the ability to manage critical path dependencies while holding delivery partners accountable.
- Resilience: The ability to work effectively under pressure, manage competing priorities, and maintain a keen eye for detail while solving analytical problems.
