As a specialist in our Technology Risk team, you’ll make an impact by:
- Shaping our defences against technology risk by providing clear, accurate advice and challenge to Technology teams across all platforms, including core banking, product and customer, and developers.
- Providing expert advice and data-driven insights on technology risk and threats to inform the identification and detection of emerging risks.
- Translating complex technology risks into clear, actionable insights that inform strategic decisions and protect the bank, our customers, and the community.
- Collaborating across the business to embed a proactive and intelligent approach to identifying and managing technology risk.
About the role
The Senior Manager, Technology Risk Advisory reports to the Head of Technology Risk Advisory. In this pivotal specialist role, you will be at the forefront of maturing the bank’s approach to identifying, assessing, and managing technology risk.
You will be responsible for independently monitoring and reporting on the status and compliance of the Technology Division in line with the BEN Board risk appetite, applicable policy and industry best-practice. A key focus will be to counsel, advise and monitor changes to the Technology Risk Profile, relating to Information Security and Technology Strategy.
Key accountabilities include:
- Technology Risk Advice: Provide advice and recommendations to the aligned Senior Technology Leaders on risk management practices and the practical application of the BEN operational risk management frameworks, policies and standards.
- Technology Risk Oversight: Partner and provide strategic risk guidance, perspectives, insights and challenge to Senior Technology Leaders, including the identification, assessment and prioritisation of risks and monitoring of emerging risks and industry trends.
- Platforms: Provide advice and input to policies, standards, and guidelines that support platform optimisation and digital adoption, and oversee the approach to Technology Risk management.
- Leadership: Strong collaboration with peers across Group Risk and effective stakeholder engagement across all levels of seniority in the business.
What you’ll bring to the role
Essential
- 10+ years of non-financial risk knowledge with proven application in technology environments.
- Extensive experience in the banking industry with diverse knowledge of a bank’s operations.
- Minimum of Senior Manager experience in Technology Risk, Information Security (CPS234) and Data Risk (CPG235) in the context of the Australian financial services industry.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to lead and drive change at a Divisional level.
- Experience with cloud providers and cloud-based technology environments.
Highly desirable
- Tertiary qualifications in Information Security, Technology, Data Risk or a related field.
- Practical experience in continual improvement methods and techniques.
This is a permanent full-time position located in Melbourne, Bendigo, Adelaide, Sydney or Brisbane.
