Come and be part of a landmark transformation of our Financial Crime & Fraud Operations (FC&FO). As we build a best-in-class financial crime first line accountability, this function is responsible for the operational management of BEN’s financial crime controls across AML, sanctions, fraud and scams. It will deliver investigation capability, detection systems, financial crime intelligence, regulatory reporting governance and operational support to identify, prevent and respond to financial crime risks impacting BEN.
About the opportunity
As part of our landmark transformation, we are seeking Senior Manager Quality Control and reporting to the Executive, Financial Crime & Fraud Operations, you will lead the Quality Control function, responsible for the independent assessment of financial crime and fraud operational activities across BEN.
You will ensure outcomes of investigations conducted by Financial Crime & Fraud Operations are independently reviewed and assessed in line with regulatory obligations and BEN’s financial crime framework, supporting consistent, high quality and defensible decision making.
In particular you will get to:
- Lead the Quality Control function, providing independent review and challenge across financial crime and fraud operational activity. Oversee the assessment of investigation outcomes, ensuring decisions are consistent, evidence based and aligned to regulatory obligaitons and BEN’s financial crime framework. Establish and maintain quality standards and control frameworks that support consistent and defensible decision making across Financial Crime & Fraud Operations.
- Identify themes, risks and control gaps through quality review activities, providing insights to strengthen operational performance and risk management.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying systemic issues and embedding enhancements that strengthen consistency, efficiency and defensibility of decision making.
This is a permanent full-time position ideally located in Melbourne or Adelaide but for an outstanding candidate other locations may be considered.
What you’ll bring to the role
To succeed in this role you will have:
- Significant experience in financial crime & fraud investigations, AML reporting or regulatory engagement roles within financial services or regulatory agencies
- Extensive leadership capability with experience managing financial crime investigations, regulatory reporting or quality assurance functions.
- Demonstrated ability to assess complex investigations and determine whether matters meet regulatory reporting obligations.
- Strong understanding of AML/CTF legislation, regulatory requirements and suspicion determination thresholds.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence investigative practices across multiple operational teams.
- Tertiary qualification in relevant field with Financial Crime Industry qualifications such as ACAMs, AFCS highly desirable
