About the Team
The Risk and Compliance (R&C) function has responsibility for enabling the Group to manage risks associated with their respective area of focus, in line with the Group’s risk appetite. In that support, the R&C function will enable the success of the business by instilling a culture of risk management as a core part of how we support our customers and ensure that we have the appropriate processes and practices to meet our compliance obligations.
About the role
As Senior Manager - Compliance reporting directly to Head of Risk & Compliance Services this role is pivotal in leading the first line central compliance function to ensure alignment with all relevant legislative, regulatory and policy obligations across the first line business divisions.
In particular you will be:

Leading a professional, high-quality, service focused approach and support ongoing capability development across the first line business.

Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure consistent application of compliance policies and standards

Provide advice and guidance to first line business on the interpretation of obligations and the implementation of effective controls.

Manage and monitor first line compliance activities including core compliance processes to support consistent compliance practices across the divisions.

Partnering with 2LOA to embed compliance capability across the business.

Assessing regulatory change impacts and supporting the first line implementation

Preparation of regulatory responses and notifications including ASIC Breach reporting

Working closely with other Divisional Risk Teams, various Business Units and Group Regulatory Compliance to enhance the development of a strong risk and compliance culture
This is a full-time permanent opportunity to be located at one of our corporate offices ideally in Melbourne, Adelaide, Bendigo or Sydney.
About you
To be successful you will have:

Demonstrated ability to build a culture of collaboration across organisational teams; you will look for and facilitate opportunities to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

Evidence of successfully partnering with diverse stakeholders—including other internal business groups, senior executives, Boards, and non-compliance professionals—to achieve shared compliance outcomes, influence decision-making, and drive behavioural change across an organisation.

Experience in driving and delivering high quality outcomes and priorities that ensure regulatory compliance meets expectations of senior executives; the Board and other key stakeholders including customers.

Demonstrated experience performing end to end compliance activities, including identifying, interpreting and operationalising new or amended legislative or regulatory obligations.

Tertiary qualifications in Legal, Finance or Business-related fields (highly desirable)

Experience in understanding and interpreting banking and financial services regulations, legislation and processes

Demonstrated experience in leading and managing staff
-
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with highly developed influencing skills and ability to explain complex issues

Strong collaboration and relationship management to deliver on organisational outcomes

Strong problem-solving skills with an inquisitive and highly motivated mindset
