Are you a people-first kind of individual who thrives on supporting others with a customer first mentality?
It starts here. With Bendigo Bank… and you.
About the Role
Are you a skilled data professional who loves finding the "so what" behind the numbers? Do you excel at translating complex technical data into clear, actionable business insights?
We are looking for a Reporting Analyst – Product & Pricing to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will act as a key analytical partner to our Product and Pricing teams. You will design, develop, and maintain robust reports and interactive Power BI dashboards that track the Bank’s performance and uncover the underlying drivers of key trends.
By combining your advanced technical capability with a strong understanding of core banking products, you will empower senior leaders and stakeholders to make confident, data-driven decisions that directly benefit our customers and business.
Key Responsibilities
- Reporting & Dashboard Development: Design, build, and deploy high-performing reports and data visualisations in Microsoft Power BI. You will apply user experience (UX) and data visualisation best practices to make complex data intuitive and highly accessible.
- Data Management & Automation: Write and optimize complex SQL queries to extract and prepare data from both on-premise (Oracle, MS SQL) and cloud-based (GCP) databases. You will develop automated data workflows to ensure timely reporting.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with Product, Pricing, and divisional senior leaders to gather requirements, define robust KPIs, and translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Analysis & Insights: Look beyond the numbers to identify trends, performance variances, and potential outliers, providing clear context that helps stakeholders understand business drivers.
- Training & Self-Service Support: Support and train business users to leverage self-service reports, troubleshooting any data or dashboard performance issues promptly.
- Governance, Risk & Compliance: Ensure all reporting solutions strictly adhere to the Bank’s data governance standards. Manage security and access controls in line with policies and actively identify and report risk or compliance matters to protect customer and bank data.
What You Will Bring
To be successful in this role, you will be a proactive problem-solver with a strong technical toolkit and the communication skills to bridge the gap between technical data and business strategy.
Your Technical Skills & Qualifications:
- Education: A tertiary qualification in Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, Business, Commerce, or a related field (Postgraduate qualifications are highly regarded).
- Power BI Expertise: Advanced experience with Microsoft Power BI for data modelling, dashboard development, and DAX.
- SQL & Data Querying: Strong SQL proficiency with on-premise (Oracle, MS SQL) and cloud-based (GCP) databases. Experience with dbt is highly desirable.
- Data Visualisation: A strong eye for design and deep understanding of data visualization best practices.
Your Experience & Attributes:
- Demonstrated experience in a Business Intelligence (BI), reporting, or data-focused analyst role.
- Proven understanding of banking products (such as Loans and Deposits) and the broader financial services landscape is highly desirable.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to data integrity and accuracy.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- A proactive approach to risk management, ensuring all practices align with compliance and bank policy.
