As a Manager in our Financial Crime Solutions team, you’ll make an impact by
- Driving innovation in our detection systems, leveraging data analytics, AI, and automation to continuously improve the Bank’s ability to mitigate financial crime risk.
- Shaping our defences against financial crime by leading the strategic design and oversight of technology, data analytics, and transaction monitoring frameworks.
- Providing subject matter expertise on financial crime solutions, helping to identify, design, and implement advanced technology to detect, deter, and disrupt financial crime.
- Collaborating across the business with Technology, Operations, and Data teams to deliver robust, fit-for-purpose financial crime solutions across the Bank.
About the role
The Manager, Financial Crime Solutions reports to the Head of Financial Crime Solutions. In this pivotal specialist role, you will be at the forefront of protecting the Bank from regulatory, reputational, and financial risks by developing and maintaining robust financial crime solutions. As a subject matter expert, you will be instrumental in the strategic design, implementation, and oversight of technology, data analytics, and operational frameworks to combat financial crime. A key focus will be driving the evergreen assessment of existing and potential solutions to enhance our screening and detection systems.
Key accountabilities include
- Financial Crime Solutions: Assist with the identification, design, and oversight of financial crime technology implementation, recommending new strategies to create greater efficiencies and perfected outcomes.
- Data & Analytics: Help design and implement a financial crime data and analytics strategy, driving continuous improvement through the advanced use of data, analytics, automation, and AI.
- Screening and Detection Systems: Support the ever-evolving assessment of financial crime solutions to enhance screening and detection systems, including the development of monitoring rules, scenarios, and processes.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with Technology, Operations, Data functions, and other Group Risk teams to deliver fit-for-purpose financial crime solutions across the Bank.
What you’ll bring to the role
Essential
- Extensive financial crime experience in the banking industry with a deep knowledge of a bank’s financial crime environment.
- Considerable experience in the design, implementation, and maintenance of financial crime solutions, including data, analytics, AI, transaction monitoring, and systems oversight.
- Proven data mining, exploratory data analysis skills, and experience with Oracle and SQL.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with a demonstrated ability to build relationships at all levels of the business.
Highly desirable
- Skills in Python and knowledge of big data tools like R, PowerBI, Tableau, or graph databases.
- Experience with commonly used Financial Crime Risk Systems (e.g., NetReveal, RSA).
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant field and/or a Financial Crime Industry qualification (e.g., ACAMS, AFCS).
This is a permanent full-time position located in Melbourne, Bendigo, Adelaide, Sydney or Brisbane.
