Come and be part of a landmark transformation of our Financial Crime & Fraud Operations (FC&FO). As we build a best-in-class financial crime first line accountability, this function is responsible for the operational management of BEN’s financial crime controls across AML, sanctions, fraud and scams. It will deliver investigation capability, detection systems, financial crime intelligence, regulatory reporting governance and operational support to identify, prevent and respond to financial crime risks impacting BEN.
About the opportunity
As part of our transformation we are seeking the Head of Financial Crime & Fraud Detection & Analytics and reporting to the Executive, Financial Crime & Fraud Operations, you will lead the management and optimisation of financial crime detection systems including alert generation, rule and scenario tuning, transaction monitoring implementation, screening optimisation and operational reporting.
In particular you will get to:
- Provide strong leadership and operational oversight to ensure high performing and sustainable detection capability across transaction monitoring, customer payment systems, fraud detection and scanning monitoring systems.
- Collaborate closely with Financial Crime Risk, technology and operational teams to ensure detection systems are implemented and optimised to support operational effectiveness
- As senior lead within Financial Crime Operations, proactively contribute to strengthening BEN’s financial crime operational strategy and capability through effective data use, system optimisation and analytical insights
This is a permanent full-time position ideally located in Melbourne or Adelaide but for an outstanding candidate other locations may be considered.
What you’ll bring to the role
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Extensive experience and understanding of financial crime & fraud detection systems and financial crimes and fraud analytics preferably within Financial Services
- Extensive leadership capabilities with the ability to lead high performing technical teams in a complex and highly regulated environments
- Demonstrated ability to manage large data sets, developing analytical insights and providing effective reporting, utilising analytical tools such as SQL, Phython, data visualization platform or similar
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills to enable strong stakeholder management with the ability to collaborate, influence and advise.
- Critical and creative thinking mind set with the ability to analyse, evaluate and effectively solve problems.
- Tertiary qualification in relevant field with Financial Crime Industry qualifications such a ACAMs, AFCS highly desirable
