We’ve never been ‘just a bank’. Just like you should never be ‘just an employee’. We’re united in our belief that in banking, better can be bigger, and together we’re making it happen.

It starts here. With Bendigo Bank… and you.

About the opportunity

As an Enterprise Architect, you will play a crucial role in supporting the alignment of Bendigo Bank's technology landscape with its strategic business priorities. You will ensure the systems, platforms, and capabilities across the organisation are cohesive, cost-effective, and future-ready.

Working across diverse domains, platforms, and initiatives, you will maintain the "big picture" of the Bank's technology ecosystem, including capability maps, integration patterns, and the architectural runway. This role is key to our long-term technical roadmap, providing vital input into investment planning, major transformation programs, and enterprise-wide design decisions

In this role you’ll get to…

  • Maintain and evolve the Bank's enterprise capability model and architecture landscape to identify opportunities for simplification, modernisation, consolidation and innovation.
  • Guide the design and governance of enterprise-wide integration patterns (e.g., APIs, events, shared services).
  • Facilitate working groups and design forums for complex or cross-cutting initiatives.
  • Contribute to enterprise architecture principles, reference architectures, and decision playbooks.
  • Provide architectural input into transformation business cases and program design.
  • Act as a trusted advisor and sounding board for Product, Platform, and Engineering leaders.

What you’ll bring to the role

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • Experience as an enterprise or senior domain architect in a mid-to-large organisation, with a demonstrated impact on major technology transformation programs.
  • A proven ability to influence cross-functional and cross-business unit stakeholders.
  • Strong architectural modelling and communication skills, with a deep understanding of enterprise integration, legacy modernisation, and data governance.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native architecture, microservices, shared platforms, and modern API/event patterns.
  • Experience in banking platform/application modernisation, including core, finance, customer, digital, product, account, ledger, payments, data migration, integration, coexistence, and decommissioning considerations.
  • Ability to translate business strategy, operating models, process understanding, and technology constraints into clear future-state architecture, transition states, roadmaps, and investment options.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity. We are open to all locations for the right candidate.

We offer flexible work options that put our people first, working in a hybrid model with a minimum local Head Office attendance requirement determined by your Leader, to find a rhythm that works best for you and your team. We believe that coming into the office some of the time is the best way to learn, stay connected and collaborate effectively, especially for key activities like team days, 1:1s, and town halls.
