An Engineering Manager opportunity has emerged, available within our Core Banking Support Services division, focusing on
 Collateral & Document Management.

In this role, your primary focus will be on creating the
 optimal conditions for safe, fast, and sustainable shipping, ensuring that your teams can consistently deliver secure, scalable, and maintainable outcomes for our customers. You will play a crucial role in shaping our ways-of-working, setting a high bar for delivery and operations including security, reliability, automation and working with teams across multiple time zones.

In this role you’ll get to

 

  • Provide leadership and directionto engineering squads, driving outcomes and ensuring alignment with our strategic objectives. 
  • Ensure the deliveryof scalable, secure, and reliable technical solutions while maintaining system health through proactive risk management. 
  • Uplift software engineering practices, embedding quality early through test automation, peer review, and clean code principles. 
  • Monitor and improve delivery performanceutilising DORA and related metrics, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and root cause analysis. 
  • Facilitate career developmentand build a high-performing team. 
  • Drive cross-squad collaborationand an inclusive team culture, managing delivery flow and removing team-level blockers. 
  • Act as the primary conduit for stakeholders, managing expectations and ensuring all delivery strictly aligns with regulatory, risk, security, and compliance standards. 

 

 

What you’ll bring to the role

 

To be successful in the role you will have: 

  • A deep understanding of modern software engineering practices across the full lifecycle, with technical depth in relevant languages, architectures, and cloud-native patterns. 
  • The proven ability to lead, motivate, and grow technical teams, promoting and engineering culture that ships high-quality software in agile, iterative environments. 
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively across both technical and business domains. 
  • Experience in document management and records management systems, including architectural best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and drive an engineering culture with hybrid teams.
  • Experience working with multiple external suppliers.


This is a permanent, full-time opportunity, located at our Melbourne or Bendigo Head Office locations.
