We’ve never been ‘just a bank’. Just like you should never be ‘just an employee’. We’re united in our belief that in banking, better can be bigger, and together we’re making it happen.

It starts here. With Bendigo Bank… and you.

About the opportunity

The technology space is evolving, and so are we. At Bendigo Bank we are simplifying our technology function, creating clearer accountabilities aligned with our strategy and customer needs. With a focus on delivering innovative services at scale, we’re creating a future-ready customer experience and high performing culture.

We are seeking a collaborative
Engineering Manager - Account & Product Management who will champion modern software engineering practices while overseeing complex data integrations, vendor partnerships, and the continuous improvement of our enterprise SaaS solutions. This is a fantastic opportunity to drive high-impact technical delivery and shape the future of our core pricing and billing platforms.

In this role you’ll get to...

  • Lead and mentor a high performing, geographically distributed engineering team, fostering a collaborative and continuous learning environment.
  • Drive the implementation and optimisation of enterprise SaaS solutions while collaborating across product and engineering teams to resolve technical dependencies.
  • Manage and partner with external vendors to ensure robust accountability, alignment, and successful service delivery.
  • Architect complex integrations and data pipelines utilizing real-time APIs, event-driven architectures (such as Kafka), and batch processing systems.
  • Oversee crucial data initiatives including complex data mapping, migration, and real-time streaming between disparate systems.
  • Champion modern engineering practices by establishing robust frameworks for CI/CD, test automation, DevSecOps, and system observability.

What you’ll bring to the role

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • Proven leadership experience managing and mentoring engineering teams in an agile, product led environment.
  • Strong vendor management skills with a track record of driving accountability and alignment with external partners.
  • Deep technical expertise in integration patterns (APIs, Kafka, batch processing) and complex data migrations.
  • Enterprise SaaS experience with a solid understanding of deploying, scaling, and continuously improving SaaS platforms.
  • A modern engineering mindset with hands-on familiarity with DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, and observability frameworks.
  • Familiarity with core platforms such as Zafin (pricing/billing lifecycle) or Varicent (incentive compensation management), or a strong background in similar pricing and billing systems.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity, located at our Melbourne, Bendigo, Adelaide or Sydney Head Office locations.

We offer flexible work options that put our people first, working in a hybrid model with a minimum local Head Office attendance requirement determined by your Leader, to find a rhythm that works best for you and your team. We believe that coming into the office some of the time is the best way to learn, stay connected and collaborate effectively, especially for key activities like team days, 1:1s, and town halls.

We believe a diverse workforce supported by an inclusive culture is central to our success and we actively encourage applications from those who bring diversity of thought to our business. We support candidate requests for adjustment to accommodate an illness, injury, or disability to equitably participate in the selection process.

If you're already part of Bendigo Bank (including Community Banks), you'll need to apply through People Hub to submit a valid application. We’re keen to support you with the next step in your career.

Still in two minds?

Research suggests 60% of women and underrepresented groups might stop here, even after getting as far as drafting an application. We believe that diversity makes every team stronger, so even if you don’t tick every box we still want to see your application!

Please note shortlisting and interviews may take place prior to the advertised close date, so don't delay apply now!
