We’ve never been ‘just a bank’. Just like you should never be ‘just an employee’. We’re united in our belief that in banking, better can be bigger, and together we’re making it happen.

Tired of lending processes that look great on a slide deck but stall at the frontline? Ready to actually fix them?

It starts here. With Bendigo Bank… and you.

Are you ready to shape the future of consumer lending and make a genuine impact on how Australians achieve their financial goals? At Bendigo Bank, we are dedicated to building trusted relationships and making banking easier for our customers, communities, and partners. As our Consumer Lending Strategy & Enablement Manager, you will be at the centre of Bendigo Bank’s consumer lending value chain.

In this high-visibility role, you will influence and align diverse stakeholder groups across the end-to-end lending value chain to foster collaborative decision-making and drive a unified consumer lending strategy. You’ll identify and lead initiatives to improve performance, leverage data-driven insights to influence go-to-market strategies (including pricing), optimise credit policies, and eliminate operational friction through simplification of the lending journey. If you are an energetic commercial thinker, natural problem-solver, and collaborative influencer who thrives on challenging the status quo and delivering sustainable performance, this is your opportunity to leave a lasting footprint in an organisation that truly puts people first.

Key responsibilities:

  • Shape & execute lending strategy: Help formulate an agile consumer lending strategy that translates commercial objectives and market insights into a clear, actionable strategy to improve customer and commercial outcomes.

  • Drive commercial performance: Identify and lead high-impact initiatives across customer to drive improvement in acquisition, conversion and retention outcomes.

  • Simplify processes: Partner across the value chain to streamline the end-to-end lending process to reduce friction for customers, lenders and brokers.

  • Uplift application quality: Design and implement practical action plans across Retail and Third-Party channels to improve ’right first time’ submission quality and reduce rework.

  • Influence credit policy: Collaborate closely with Credit Risk and Policy teams to modernise credit guidelines, address customer pain points, and balance risk and commercial outcomes.

  • Drive data-led prioritisation:  Utilise market and internal data to develop detailed business cases to inform lending platform or processes enhancements and resource allocation.

  • Support risk management: Actively monitor emerging operational, credit, conduct, and fraud risks across the lending lifecycle, proposing practical mitigations and relevant action plans.

To succeed in this role, we’d love you to have:

  • Consumer lending expertise: Demonstrated experience across consumer lending products, market dynamics, and distribution channels (Retail, Broker, and Digital).

  • Strategic & commercial acumen: A proven track record in business performance, strategy development or product enablement within banking or financial services.

  • Continuous improvement mindset: Demonstrated success in taking initiatives from ideation to delivery - simplifying processes, optimising credit frameworks, and lifting productivity or customer experience.

  • Analytical & data capability: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data, uncover commercial opportunities, and translate insights into compelling executive narratives and detailed business cases.

  • Exceptional stakeholder influence: Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with a natural ability to build trust, navigate complex value chains, and align diverse teams.

  • Relevant qualifications: A tertiary qualification in Finance, Business, Commerce, or a related discipline (post-graduate qualifications are highly regarded).
