About the Team

The Risk and Compliance Services (R&C) function within the first line of accountability (1LOA) has responsibility for enabling the Group to manage risks associated with their respective area of focus, in line with the Group’s risk appetite. In that support, the R&C function will enable the success of the business by instilling a culture of risk management as a core part of how we support our customers and ensure that we have the appropriate processes and practices to meet our compliance obligations.

About the role

As Compliance Manager Breach & Event Management and reporting to Senior Manager Compliance 1LOA, you will be responsible for supporting the Event Management Team with the management of risk of events and associated ASIC Breach Reporting.

In particular you will be:

  • Actively involved in identifying the compliance impact of risk events
  • Follow up on ongoing remediation and rectification actions by event owners and business stakeholders
  • Coordinate and support the collection and validation of quality information required for breach reporting.
  • Identify and support potential control uplifts to ensure obligations are met
  • Support R&C and the Business with insights related to risk event and breach data.
  • Work closely with other Divisional Risk Teams, various Business Units and Group Regulatory Compliance to enhance the development of a strong risk and compliance culture

This is a full-time permanent opportunity to be located at one of our corporate offices ideally in Melbourne, Adelaide, Bendigo or Sydney.

About you

To be successful you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Legal, Finance or Business-related fields (highly desirable)
  • Strong understanding and practical working Compliance experience within Banking and Financial Services (Line 1 or 2)
  • Experience in understanding and interpreting banking and financial services regulations, legislation and processes, including the NCCP Act, Corporations Act, ASIC Act and their applicability in breach reporting.
  • Experience with breach report preparation and with breach report lodgement in the ASIC Breach Reporting portal would be well regarded.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with highly developed influencing skills and ability to explain complex issues
  • Strong collaboration and relationship management to deliver on organisational outcomes
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an inquisitive and highly motivated mindset
