We’ve never been ‘just a bank’. Just like you should never be ‘just an employee’. We’re united in our belief that in banking, better can be bigger, and together we’re making it happen.
Are you a highly driven Wealth BDM ready to leverage your extensive networks, take true ownership of a region, and drive growth for Australia’s longest-standing margin lender?
It starts here. With Bendigo Bank… and you.
Step into a high-impact role where you aren't just pitching a service—you’re championing the market leader. As our Wealth Business Development Manager, you will proudly represent Leveraged Equities, Australia’s longest-standing margin lender and a true powerhouse in wealth creation. We equip you with an industry-leading suite of gearing and cash solutions, giving you the ultimate competitive edge to confidently open doors, elevate holistic advice models, and help your partners deliver unparalleled value to their clients.
In this highly autonomous, relationship-driven role, you will take true ownership of your region's growth and strategic direction. You’ll be the trusted expert and go-to strategist for financial planners, brokers, and our expansive internal Bendigo Bank network. By educating advisers on sophisticated investment and gearing strategies, you won't just be hitting sales targets—you’ll be fundamentally shaping how our partners build, protect, and sustain wealth for everyday Australians. From unearthing fresh market opportunities to nurturing top-tier existing relationships, your commercial acumen will drive tangible, rewarding results.
Beyond the prestige of our products, you’ll be joining a purpose-led, highly collaborative culture within the Consumer Banking Division. At Bendigo Bank, we empower our leaders to move fast, actively challenge the status quo, and make balanced, commercially sound decisions. If you are a tenacious, self-directed sales professional with deep industry networks and a passion for financial markets, this is your opportunity to write your own success story with the backing of one of Australia’s most trusted brands.
Key responsibilities:
-
Drive Strategic Growth: Proactively market our market-leading gearing and wealth solutions to acquire new partnerships across financial planners, brokers, and internal Bendigo Bank networks, while consistently exceeding sales targets.
-
Elevate Partner Relationships: Take ownership of an existing portfolio, acting as a trusted consultant who deeply understands adviser challenges and delivers tailored, high-value wealth strategies.
-
Educate & Empower Advisers: Lead highly effective product training sessions, educating external partners on how to seamlessly integrate sophisticated margin lending strategies into their holistic advice models.
-
Shape Distribution Strategy: Act as our eyes and ears in the field—leveraging your market knowledge to identify emerging opportunities, gather valuable industry intelligence, and directly influence national sales and campaign initiatives.
-
Champion the Customer Experience: Collaborate closely with internal Wealth support functions and the broader Bank network to ensure a frictionless, superior experience is delivered to every partner and customer.
To succeed in this role, we’d love you to have:
-
Extensive Industry Experience: 10+ years of proven, successful sales experience within the financial services industry—specifically targeting financial planning, stockbroking, or direct investor segments.
-
Wealth & Gearing Expertise: A deep, working knowledge of financial markets, equities, and managed funds, coupled with the confidence to expertly discuss and structure sophisticated investment and margin lending strategies.
-
Relationship Building: Exceptional negotiation, communication, and influencing skills. You have a demonstrated ability to uncover an adviser's core needs, present compelling commercial solutions, and build long-term trust.
-
Autonomous Drive: A highly commercial, proactive, and self-starter mentality. You thrive when given the autonomy to take ownership of a territory, drive your own sales initiatives, and hunt for new market opportunities.
-
The Non-Negotiables: A relevant tertiary degree (e.g., Commerce, Economics, Business) and your RG 146 accreditation (specifically with Margin Lending). As you'll be out on the road building relationships, a current Australian driver’s license is essential. (Bonus points if you hold postgraduate qualifications like a CFP or FINSIA Diploma!)
