It starts here. With Bendigo Bank… and you.
About the opportunity
As the Senior Manager - Trust & Governance you will play a pivotal role in translating our enterprise Data and AI Governance strategy into a tangible, actionable execution roadmap.
You will act as a trusted advisor on industry best practices and drive the continuous maturation of our Data Trust and AI Governance frameworks.
In this role, you will lead a dedicated team of governance professionals to enhance the processes and platforms that build trust, improve data quality, and manage risk across our entire data and AI ecosystem.
In this role you’ll get to…
- Translate enterprise Data and AI Governance strategies into clear execution roadmaps, defining key initiatives, milestones, and success metrics.
- Operationalise and continuously improve the bank-wide Data Trust Framework across all enterprise data assets.
- Drive the day-to-day management of the AI Governance framework to ensure AI models are used transparently, ethically, and in a compliant manner.
- Own and mature the enterprise data catalogue and metadata management practices, establishing it as the central source of truth for data discovery and lineage.
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of governance specialists while contributing to shared engineering standards and infrastructure.
- Work within enterprise frameworks to embed compliance with APRA, ASIC, OAIC, and privacy obligations into enablement practices.
What you’ll bring to the role
To be successful in the role you will have:
- 7+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or risk roles, with essential experience in banking, financial services, or another regulated industry.
- Proven experience leading the implementation and evolution of large-scale data governance programs (experience in a federated or domain-driven data environment is highly desirable).
- Deep expertise in Data and AI Governance frameworks, metadata management, data quality, and the principles of Responsible AI and ethical data use.
- A strong understanding of Australian banking data privacy and compliance requirements.
- A Degree in Information Management, Data Science, Business, or a related discipline. Certifications in data governance (e.g., DAMA, DCAM) or program management are highly regarded.
