About the team
The Risk and Compliance (R&C) function has responsibility for enabling the Group to manage the risks associated with their respective area of focus in, line with the Group’s risk appetite. In that support, the R&C function will enable the success of the business by instilling a culture of risk management as a core part of how we support our customers and ensure that we have the appropriate processes and practices to meet our compliance obligations.
About the role
The Senior Manager, Risk & Compliance Services is an integral part of the first line Risk & Compliance Services team. ,
This role is a key leadership role responsible for strengthening operational resilience, enhancing data risk management practices, and supporting the business in managing risk effectively. You will work across the first line business to ensure critical business services remain resilient, data risks are identified and managed, and regulatory obligations are met through practical and sustainable risk management practices.
You will be key in leading and driving the:
- Lead the Business Continuity Management (BCM) program, including business impact assessments, continuity planning, testing and exercising activities.
- Drive operational resilience initiatives to ensure critical business operations can respond effectively to disruption.
- Oversee data risk management practices, including risk assessments, control uplift, issue management and remediation.
- Partner with business leaders to identify, assess and manage emerging operational and data risks.
- Monitor and challenge risk exposures, ensuring issues are identified early and addressed in a timely manner.
- Deliver meaningful reporting and insights to senior management and governance committees.
- Support compliance with regulatory obligations, including operational resilience and data-related requirements.
- Foster a culture of proactive risk management, accountability and continuous improvement across the business.
Ideally you will be based at one of our corporate offices in Melbourne Adelaide, Bendigo or Sydney but open to location for the right candidates.
About you
You are an experienced risk leader who combines strong technical expertise with a pragmatic and collaborative approach. You will bring:
- Extensive experience in Business Continuity Management, Operational Resilience, Data Risk, Operational Risk or related disciplines.
- Strong understanding of risk management frameworks, controls, governance and regulatory expectations within a financial services environment.
- Experience leading testing, scenario exercises, incident response reviews and resilience uplift initiatives.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and challenge constructively at all levels.
- Experience analysing complex risk issues and translating insights into practical business solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, including experience preparing executive and Board-level reporting.
- Experience leading teams with the ability to motivate and support a proactive team environment
- Strong understanding and experience with Data Risk, Operational Risk and Compliance Frameworks
- Tertiary qualifications in Law, Risk Management, Accounting, Finance or related field
