About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Group Compliance, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the Group’s compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This is a dynamic position where you will contribute to the oversight and challenge of the first line of accountability, ensuring business operations align with our frameworks, policies, and regulatory obligations.
Operating in a fast-paced and collaborative environment, you will work closely with stakeholders to interpret and assess compliance obligations, promote a strong risk culture, and drive continuous improvement across the Group.
Key Accountabilities:
- Compliance Oversight: Provide oversight and challenge of first-line business operations, with a particular focus on Conflicts of Interest management, to ensure alignment with the Group's risk appetite and regulatory obligations.
- Monitoring & Reporting: Support compliance monitoring through thematic reviews and deep dives and assist with Group Compliance governance reporting submissions.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Advisory: Build effective relationships with stakeholders to provide timely, practical, and engaging advice on meeting regulatory obligations.
- Continuous Improvement: Support the ongoing evolution of the Group’s compliance framework by researching best practice, challenging the status quo, and making recommendations for improving policies and procedures.
What You’ll Bring to the Role
This role requires a blend of regulatory knowledge, operational risk understanding, and exceptional stakeholder engagement skills.
Essential:
- Compliance or Risk Experience: Proven experience in a legal, compliance, and/or risk management role within the financial services industry.
- Regulatory Knowledge: A sound understanding of compliance risk management and knowledge of current compliance trends within the financial services industry.
- Stakeholder Management: Highly collaborative with the ability to build and maintain productive relationships, deal with competing demands, and effectively manage expectations of multiple stakeholders in a complex environment.
- Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills, including report writing, with the ability to engage stakeholders in a practical and timely manner.
- Problem-Solving & Agility: A proactive approach to problem-solving with the ability to work under broad direction, prioritise workload, and continuously challenge the status quo to improve compliance outcomes.
Desirable:
- Tertiary degree in a relevant discipline and/or a Certificate IV in Compliance Management.
- Knowledge of key legislative requirements such as the National Consumer Credit Protection Act, Corporations Act, ASIC Act, or the Banking Code of Practice.
- Knowledge of AS ISO 37301:2021 (Compliance management systems).
- Experience with project management and process improvement methodologies.
Location & Flexibility
This is a permanent, full-time position. We are flexible on location for the right applicant.
We offer hybrid working arrangements, with a minimum local Head Office attendance requirement determined collaboratively with your leader, ensuring you find a rhythm that works best for you and your team.
