Join our dedicated Customer Fraud & Scam Operations team which delivers leading financial crime operational services to protect the bank, our customers and the communities we serve.
About the role
The Customer Fraud & Scam Protection Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day functioning of the team, ensuring its operations are risk-focused, efficient, and effective. Your work will provide direct support and leadership to an investigative and operational team to keep our customers safe.
Playing an integral role, you will help implement and lead the team toward achieving business objectives by leveraging a strong understanding of fraud and scam typologies. The goal is to grow a happy, engaged, and risk-aware team that is empowered and autonomous.
Key accountabilities include:
- Leadership: Engage with senior stakeholders on fraud investigation outcomes, build networks across business units, and foster a culture of operational excellence.
- Fraud Risk Management: Achieve SLA and quality goals, manage WIP volumes, and report on team progress and metrics.
- Performance: Conduct team performance reviews, identify and report on new fraud trends, and liaise with other financial institutions, regulators, and law enforcement.
- Continuous Improvement: Attend industry meetings, conduct regular reviews of operational procedures, and adapt to changing industry and regulatory requirements.
What you’ll bring to the role
Knowledge & Skills
- Expertise in Fraud (application lending, online or branch), with transferable knowledge and skills.
- Developed leadership skills.
- Flexible work attitude and ability to handle various tasks within tight timeframes.
- Knowledge of fraud detection and investigation processes and systems (including Intellinx).
- Excellent analytical, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Proactive, positive, and able to maintain composure under pressure.
Relevant Experience
- Experience in an Investigative / Fraud discipline.
- Experience in lending, credit, online, or application fraud.
- Proven experience with Active Ops Workware planning and methodologies.
This is a key opportunity within our Customer Fraud and Scam Operations team on a full-time, 12-month basis, located at our Melbourne, Bendigo or Adelaide Head Offices.
We prioritise our people with a hybrid model of minimum two days per week based out of our Head Office/Regional Office locations.
