About the team & the role

Bendigo Bank is currently undergoing an exciting enterprise-wide transformation. As part of this journey, our Continuous Improvement team is leveraging Automation Technologies to drive efficiency, simplify the customer experience, improve risk profiles, and ultimately increase our financial contribution to the enterprise.

Our Continuous Improvement Team is critical in identifying opportunities to streamline operations across the bank. Through observation and statistical analysis, the team identifies, prioritizes, and sequences efficiency gains—working closely with stakeholders to ensure we deliver the best value and impact.

As an Appian BPM Developer, you will design, develop, and implement solutions focused on automation and system integration. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you'll analyse existing processes and deliver scalable solutions that streamline our business operations. Your role will also involve troubleshooting, maintaining existing automation solution, and optimising performance to ensure continued service delivery.

In this role you will get to:

  • Collaborate with an enthusiastic team to design, develop, and deliver cutting-edge automated solutions.

  • Leverage automation capabilities—including Appian BPM, APIs and other technology—to drive efficiency gains and return value to the Bendigo Group.

  • Promote teamwork and a culture of continuous improvement across Strategic Partner and Service Management workstreams.

  • Assess the requirements of existing applications and implement changes aligned with our broader strategic goals.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • 2+ years of experience developing automation solutions in medium-to-large enterprise environments.

  • Appian BPM expertise: Strong proficiency in designing and developing Appian BPM solutions is highly desirable.

  • Process & Integration skills: A strong understanding of business analytics or process improvement, alongside proven experience integrating APIs into automated workflows.

  • Core competencies: Excellent problem-solving skills, a keen eye for detail, and a continuous improvement mindset.

  • Bonus skills: Familiarity with SQL databases and an understanding of AI and NLU (Natural Language Understanding) models will be highly regarded.

You’ll also get access to a great range of benefits, including:

  • Hybrid work: Our flexible work options are designed to suit your life—talk to us about what flexibility means to you.

  • Health and wellbeing: Access to support programs, discounted gym memberships, and private health insurance options.

  • Career growth: Take your learning to the next level through opportunities like our corporate university, ‘BEN U’, or an external provider of your choice.

Please note shortlisting and interviews may take place prior to the advertised close date. Don't delay—apply now!
